Sophie Hughes

As a Co-Founder Sophie is passionate about small business and bringing a breath of fresh air to the stereotypically stuffy accountancy industry.

Within Mazuma Sophie takes a lead on various projects and implementing change across the company.

With a keen eye for accuracy and detail Sophie heads up internal finance and reporting for Mazuma.

Sophie has spent 20 years working within Corporate Finance and the Accountancy industry and spent over 15 years with Mazuma since inception.

Sophie is keen to build an excellent working environment for the team and in 2012 successfully achieved the Investors In People Award for Mazuma and has continued to achieve the high standards set since.

Recently Sophie oversaw the full refurbishment of our office building and relished the challenge property development brings. Sophie enjoys all aspects of running a business and feels having a thorough grip on your finances is extremely important.

In her spare time Sophie is a Treasurer for a local charity and since 2011 Sophie has enjoyed mentoring new business start-ups by volunteering with the Princes Trust. Sophie regularly contributes to various publications and media as an expert in small business, entrepreneurship, apprenticeships, accounting and economics.

In October 2021 Sophie was a finalist at the British Business Women Awards for Women in Technology.
