Don't Just Believe The Hype, Believe The Right Hype

"GREAT minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people," so Eleanor Roosevelt once said, while George Eliot once opined, "Gossip is the sort of smoke that comes from the dirty tobacco pipes of those who diffuse it: it proves nothing but the bad taste of the smoker".

And, just as EM Forster described unfounded rumour as "merely one of those half-alive things that try to crowd out life", so they have conspired to divert Mazuma's attentions from the full-time business of looking after our customers, in order to answer unfounded allegations that we are in some way not qualified to look after their accounts.

We thought we'd take this opportunity to help those hard-of-thinking individuals who have been putting about a lie in the networking clubs in Cardiff that we are somewhat short of the necessary certificates to provide accounting services.

We want to put people's minds at rest. Both directors of Mazuma UK Ltd, Lucy and Sophie, are AAT qualified accountants and are fully licensed to provide accountancy services to the public. The AAT is a professional accounting body, which has thousands of members that run their own practices, just like we do.

The confusion among those who are not very good with keeping up is a little understandable. We don't exactly fit the accountant stereotype. We're not male, for starters. We're not old - quite the opposite, in fact. We don't charge a fortune for our work, and we don't talk in indecipherable riddles. We find that our clients prefer straight talk, and advice offered without prompting, rather than having to lever it out with a crowbar.

We rather think that we're not boring, either. We ice skate. We don't play golf. We like a drink with our mates in a popular bar in Cardiff, rather than in the upholstered lounge of an exclusive gentlemen's club. Finally, we reserve the right not to dress like an accountant.

So sorry for any misunderstanding. We're not your average accountant, we're modern accountants.
